Montany

Band Information
Stats
City Province Formed Style(s) Status
Wassenaar South Holland 1989 Melodic Power Metal Active
Biography
Formed as Montani in 1989, the group produced two songs before splitting into two different bands, one of which kept the band name. Montani went through several line-up changes and as only one of the original founding members still remained in 1995, they changed their name to Solid Ground. When Patrick van Maurik joined the band, their style also changed from hard rock to melodic metal. Two years later (1997) they changed the band name again, this time from Solid Ground to Montany. Their style changed again slightly when guitarists Dirk Hoek and Albert Houwaart joined, bringing along speed metal influences. They finally released their debut album in 2002, but in 2004 the band folded, to be resurrected again in 2011 and releasing their second album in 2013.
